FALSE DOCTRINE
Trust nothing but the Holy Bible for counsel and guidance - not the word of a preacher who does not give you an answer from God's Word. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God."
These were more noble, than those at Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.
Tens of thousands of God's people are being swept away from the true doctrines of the Bible by false teachers and false preachers preaching another gospel from the many perverted translations of God's true Word available today. This is in spite of God's warning that if any man shall take away from the Words of this Book of prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things that are written in this Book.
A literal interpretation of that particular Scripture would indicate that there is a very stiff penalty to pay for tampering with the Word of God. Yet, today we find a smorgasbord of Bible variations where the Word of God has been changed to suit the author's theology or understanding of Greek and Hebrew origins. This is done without fear of reprisal by God, because they have, one way or another, assuaged their conscience.
A more prevalent way of eliminating Scripture is by the actions and way of life of the individual Christian. The Scripture plainly states God's position on a subject but the individual says that it doesn't apply anymore, ignores it or tradition makes it of no effect.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world (elementary principles or morals) of the world, and not after Christ. Making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many like things do ye.
For example, many professing Christians read and quote James 5:14-15 but when push comes to shove, their actions show that they really don't believe the Word of God. At the slightest excuse they run to the doctor or take a drug to alleviate their fears. It should not surprise anyone that there is a drug problem among young people today when there is a legal and very profitable drug trade that caters to the fears and anxieties of the adult population. Most leisure conversation generally includes talk of sickness, hospitals and doctors but rarely, rarely any mention of trusting the Lord for healing. Should they trust the Lord they then might also feel obligated to live a holy and dedicated life which does not find favor today even among professing Christians.
In the book of Luke, which consists of 24 chapters and a total of 1151 Scriptures and in the book of Acts, which consists of 28 chapters with a total of 997 Scriptures, NOT ONCE is there a mention of Luke ministering to people through his profession as a physician. Nor in all of the other books is there mention of anyone being referred to the "beloved physician" for treatment by the application of medical tools or drugs.
Certainly, if the medical profession was an acceptable alternative for healing for the Christian, then there would have been at least one mention of Luke using his professional expertise instead of the Name of Jesus for healing.
Why would a believing Christian want to trust his healing to a medical doctor that operates under the sign of the CADUCEUS? The caduceus, in Greek mythology, is the staff with two entwined serpents that Hermes used when he ferried dead souls across the river Styx in to Hell!
Jesus said "The thief (Satan) comes not, but for to steal, and to kill , and to destroy: I AM come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." yet people who call themselves believers will accuse God of "taking their child or loved one to be with Him," or "the Lord is trying to teach me something or is chastising me" and other such lies.
If it is God's will for some to be sick or poor or if He is indeed "calling someone to be with Him" or attempting to chastise them, then why are these people so quick to violate what they perceive as God's will by running to the doctor, taking drugs or trying to obtain more income? ? ?
