The WRATH of GOD

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken: and then shall appear the Son of man in heaven: and then shall the tribes of earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and glory.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily best us, and let us run with patience the race set before us, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

God paid the ultimate price for the salvation of man made necessary because of his rebellious ways. Revelation 21:8 lists those who will have a part in the second death.  At the top of the list are the fearful; those that are afraid to live in the power and authority of His Name, and the unbelieving; those that do not believe there is any power and authority in His Name.  Those who suffer the wrath of Almighty God are described as those who worship the beast, or his image or have his mark.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the Name [power and authority] of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He gave commandment.

For the great Day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Jesus Christ will not come to save the world until man has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is utterly incapable of ruling himself apart from God.  Never fear!  No plague need come near you!  You may be counted worthy to escape those things about to take place if you heed and obey God.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overshadowed with surfeiting [superabundance], and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that Day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Awake, o Sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of Hosts: smote the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered: and I will turn thine hand upon the little ones. And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and I will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My Name, and I will hear them: I will say, it is My people: and they shall say the Lord is my God.

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify your Name?  For Thou only art holy: for all the nations shall come and worship before Thee; for Thy judgements are made manifest.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he had deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped after his image.  These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

We, as Christians, are not to live a certain way because of a set of rules or commandments, but are to live a holy life without blame because it is our nature to do so.  Nor are we to command others to live by our standards, but are only to preach the Word and to be an example of proper living.

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; PROVE your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ [Jesus is the WORD] is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Millions of people who claim they are Christians are "carnal-minded". Read John chapter 8 for an account of some who "believed" on Jesus (verse 31) but the WORD had no place in them (verse 37).  Matthew 15:7-9 tells of those who worship Him but whose hearts are far from Him and that they teach for doctrine the commandments of men.  And in Matthew 7:15-23 we hear Jesus telling some who prophesies in His Name and have done "wonderful works" in His Name to depart from Him because they work iniquity.  The problem is a serious one.  They were carnal-minded as many people are today.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: For it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can be.

Jesus said that He did not come to do away with the Law but to fulfill it.  Two verses later He is comparing the calling of a brother a fool to murder.  Then He compares lust to the physical act of adultery.  The reason is because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Keeping God's commandments "physically" is not enough.  We find that the commandments are even more binding and that we must keep them from the heart; that spiritual compliance is also demanded.  Note also that the commandments are not limited to ten.  When you read a Scripture that pertains to your conduct, you can no longer say that it does not apply any more because we live in different times.

The apostle Paul wrote:  If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the COMMANDMENTS of the Lord.  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

But of the times and seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.  For yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say Peace and Safety: then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child [with ever increasing intensity and frequency]; and they shall not escape.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness [ignorance], that That Day should overtake you as a thief. Therefore, let us not sleep, as do others,; but let us watch and be sober. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmut, the hope of salvation.

SEEK YE THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND

CALL YE UPON HIM WHILE HE IS NEAR:

LET THE WICKED FORSAKE HIS WAY,

AND THE UNRIGHTEOUS MAN HIS THOUGHTS:

AND LET HIM RETURN UNTO THE LORD,

AND HE WILL HAVE MERCY UPON HIM,

AND UNTO OUR GOD,

FOR HE WILL ABUNDANTLY PARDON.

FOR MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS,

NEITHER ARE YOUR WAYS MY WAYS,

SAITH THE LORD.
